Sooryavanshi: Akshay Kumar And Katrina Kaif's Movie To Open In Over 3,200 Screens Across India
Bollywood filmmakers faced numerous issues owing to the shut down of cinema halls amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The theatres in Maharashtra will now finally be fully functional for film exhibition from October 22. And filmmakers have started vying for space for the movies to be released. One report says that Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited cop drama, Sooryavanshi, will open in over 3,200 screens across India.

A report in Pinkvilla states that of 1,100 screens in Maharashtra, at least 850 to 900 will screen Sooryavanshi. "All in all, very rough and early estimates suggest a wide release on over 3,200 screens for the action-packed entertainer in India," the report adds.

Akshay’s last outing, Bell Bottom released in around 1,600 screens in India. While Maharashtra alone will have 1,100 functional screens (575 multiplex and 550 single screens) by November 5, the cinema halls which were shut in the rest of India in August due to no flow of releases, are also bullish about the revival of the sector from November, the report adds.

Sooryavanshi releases a day after Diwali, and is touted to take a rock-solid start at the ticket window with Maharashtra and Gujarat running to packed capacity.

Sooryavanshi is another addition to the Rohit Shetty cop universe. Apart from featuring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif, the movie has Ranveer Singh reprising his role as Simmba and Ajay Devgan returns as Singham.
